Creepy Witches Fingers

Every year I try to come up with some kind of spooky Halloween food to scare my kids and still have enough for them to eat. I made one and they were a hit!

Make delicious spooky witch fingers in just a few minutes! This easy recipe makes a fun Halloween treat using mozzarella sticks and pumpkin seeds.

Ingredients

  • 1 packet of frozen mozzarella sticks
  • 1 bag of pumpkin seeds
  • 28-ounce can of chopped or pureed tomatoes
  • Italian seasoning 1 tablespoon
  • 2 cloves of raw garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to the temperature of a box of mozzarella sticks. Using a small knife, cut off the top of the mozzarella cheese in fingernail shapes.
  2. Press pumpkin seeds into the cheese to keep them in place while cooking. Place the witch fingers in a single layer on a baking sheet and cook the witch finger cheese sticks in the oven according to the directions on the back of the package. Start preparing.
  3. Marinara "blood" dipping sauce
  4. Combine all ingredients (except fresh basil) in a medium-sized saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and add chopped fresh basil. Mix. Allow the marinara dipping sauce to cool slightly before serving.
