Let's face it, cheese and crackers alone don't make for a great party. But bacon on crackers is an appetizer any carnivore can get over.
The salty, sweet, savory, and spicy crunch of these bacon crackers pushes all buttons. The name of this recipe says it all. They're crackers with candied bacon and some pepper to make sure you're hooked.
Ingredients
- 1 pack of butter crackers (rectangular or oval, such as townhouse crackers or club crackers)
- 8-10 pieces of bacon
- 1 cup brown sugar

Instruction
- Preheat the oven to 175°C.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
- Arrange crackers on a wire rack set on a parchment-lined baking sheet. (Be sure to leave room for the bacon between the crackers, as the bacon will ooze out the edges of the crackers.)
- Cut bacon into thirds or quarters (depending on cracker length and shape). Place vertically chopped bacon on each cracker. Sprinkle liberally with brown sugar over the bacon crackers (about 1 heaping teaspoon per cracker). Then lightly sprinkle with cayenne and black pepper.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until brown sugar is melted and bacon is crisp. Cool crackers on a wire rack before eating.
